NoteThomas HARRIDGE and Thomas HARRIDGE (not sure which Thomas. Seems likely to be the husband of Ann Ruth Prentice) was admitted to two pieces of copyhold land,
one called Portmeed, in the manor of East and South Hall, Paglesham, Essex. on 30 October 1782 at Portmeed, Paglesham, Essex.7
Note*Reply from Offley & Co. to a complaint made by Thomas Harridge:
Document (Networks and Knowledge) by Adjunct Professor Paul Duguid of the University of California, Berkeley, concerning a complaint made to Offley & Co. Their reply[1] to Thomas Harridge 6 May 1793 was: "It almost needless for us to observe to you that port wines owing to the increase demand for these two or three years past have come over newer than formerly and of course it required longer keeping. The wines you mentioned could only at present be fit to put in the bottle not to use. We therefore persuade ourselves that the judgement found was premature ... We therefore request of you to suspend your opinion until they have had more time to mature."

OccupationAlthough the Registers of Magistrates for 1789 and 1791 include the name Thomas Harridge, he was also Deputy Lieutenant of Essex on 12 November 1803.8

Mr. Thomas Harridge, late of Hadleigh Hall, eldest Son of Thomas Harridge Esq. of this
place who departed this life on Monday the 20th of June 1808 Aged 35 years. Also Mr.
John Harridge third Son of the above Thomas Harridge Esq. who died January 23rd 1810
Aged 32 years. Also Mrs. Susannah Harridge of this Parish who died October 20th 1812.
Aged 66 years. Also of the above Thomas Harridge Esq many years a deputy Lieutenant
and Magistrate of this County, who died the 9th of June 1827 aged 86 years.2,12,10
